Two in-class essays: 75 each, 150
Four typed essays: 100 each, 400
Annotated bibliography and first 3 typed pages 100
Final essay: 150
Attendance and Reading Preparedness 100
100-point Gold standard of the above is zero absences and tardies and showing up prepared to give informed opinions about the assigned readings.
Zero-point Curdled milk standard of the above is 4 or more absences, 3 or more tardies, absorbed by your smartphone, doing homework from other classes at your desk, and not being able to give informed opinions because you're not keeping up with the assigned readings.
I can use my discretion for everything in-between.

1C Grading
