Keep summer the way it is since the students need time to get to 8,000 words in 1A.
However, you could have 5 essays at 1,600 words with a peer edit before every essay in English 1A for Fall and Spring.
For 1C, you could have 4 essays at 1,500 words each and a peer edit.
Do a grammar or MLA lesson for about 30-40 minutes on those days.
Other points:
1A would be 5 peer edits at 20 points for a full typed first draft manuscript.
1C would be 4 peer edits at 25 points each.
1A would be 400 for for first 4 essays.
200 for final essay.
100 for peer edits.
700 total.
1C would be same formula for 600 total points.
