I'd like to have a peer edit before every essay and show a video on some aspect of writing the research paper before the paper is due.
I'd like to have an activity on the day an essay is due that isn't predicated on a student reading because they will be so focused on writing their essay. I'd like to introduce the next unit, the next reading, a composition lesson, or a grammar lesson. I may even need a handout on those days.
I'd like to have 2 or 3 Reading Analysis papers due. These papers, which would have to be submitted to turnitin, would address 5 readings and have 5 paragraphs, 20 points per paragraph, for 100 points.
I'd like to experiment with a day before the peer edit to have students write 3 or 4 thesis statements and analyze which one is better and why. Students would have to email me 3 statements and we'd analyze them in class. Thesis analysis day. How would that be?
