Notes on 1C and 1A for Fall 2017: 1A is Cooked for Essay #1 and Sherry Turkle and Cal Newport Excerpt for Essay #2.

For 1A

Essay 1 Give two Cooked choices: Rising and falling and essay by Arthur C. Brooks.

Essay 2 Give two choices: Cal Newport (read Steve Jobs chapter to class) and Sherry Turkle.

Essays 3, 4, and 5 will be from Acting Out Culutre.

Teach Cooked and Acting Out Culture.

Upgrade your grammar and composition lessons for class evaluation.

For 1C

Teach Deep Work, Irresistible, and your own lecture of So Good They Can't Ignore You for Essay 3. I don't know what book I'll use for Essay 5 yet.

Perhaps keep Professor in the Cage and show documentary on hockey players.
